Description

Carrier environments are very restrictive and access to external networks is generally not available. An installation mechanism is required that is able to deploy a complete volha cluster of at minimum 3 hosts with no access to external repositories. The mechanism must be as automated as possible requiring some initial information and setup but then run to completion automatically terminating once a cluster is fully deployed.

This update adds the required ansible task, templates, and variables to enable a running voltha VM to push images to an insecure registry on a server named vinstall. This is specifically to support the creation of a voltha installer VM. This update is one of many to suppor the installation of voltha without external network access. Ref Jira VOL-6.: Gerrit Review:

Initial commit of the voltha installer. There are several things that need to be cleaned up but the installer is fully functional in test mode and creates 3 non-clustered VMs with identical voltha installs until such time as HA is ready. Once HA is ready, the scripts will be modified to deploy the full HA cluster. This update partially addresses Epic VOL-6.: Gerrit Review:

Multiple updates. Converted many of the Yaml files from "dos" format to "unix" format. Finalized the creation of the final installer file set that can be copied to a USB Flash drive or other removable media. Updated the config file with comments to make it more user friendly. Deleted ansible files that were no longer needed. This update continues to address the requirements laid out by Jira VOL-6.: Gerrit Review:

Added the required initialization to start the docker swarm cluster. Converted yet more dos format files to unix format. Updated the document on building voltha on a QEMU/KVM virtualization environment using vagrant. Added a configuration file for the install vagrant to eventually enable multiple users on a single compute node all able to run independent voltha docker swarm clusters as VMs. More work is required to finalize multi-user test mode which will be submitted in a subsequent update.: Gerrit Review:

Added the necessary code to reboot the target servers after the installation in case the kernel is upgraded during the install which is likely if the servers are installed as recommended. Also fixed a small issue where the key files required for swarm initialization were nested 2 directories deep. This update contnues to address VOL-6.: Gerrit Review:

Updated the documentation after a trial run with some team members. Also added a note about a known Ubuntu issue and vagrant VMs. This update continues to address VOL-6: Gerrit Review:

Added the deployment and initialization of base services required for vOLT-HA. These are consul, zookeeper, and kafka. All services are deployed in 3 member clusters. voltha is also started as a single instance to demonstrate that it interacts with the consul cluster and creates the keys in the KV store as expected. Added updates to the documentation to ensure it's crystal clear how the bare metal server needs to be set up. This update continues to address VOL-6.: Gerrit Review:
