Epic Link:
The OLT on the Tucson pod ran out of disk space over the holidays. The issue seems to be that the BAL logs are going to syslog rather than a separate logfile, and that syslog is not being rotated.
The reason for BAL logging to syslog seems to be that /etc/init.d/dev_mgmt_daemon specifies argument "-syslog" by default.
I think the solution is to redirect the logging to /var/log/bal_core_dist.log. There is already a logrotate configuration for this file (/etc/logrotate.d/openolt), so that should conserve disk space.
