Epic Name:Auto-Configuration
Two communities of users – developers and operators – need to be able to build, deploy, and test CORD configurations. This process should be as automated as possible. Developers often want more leeway in how this is done than operators, but with a long-term goal of supporting a DevOps model, their requirements should eventually converge.
The modest goal for this Epic is to support two target environments:
o CORD-in-a-Box – A convenient environment for service development.
This mostly exists, but needs to be more robust and better documented.
o CORD-POD – A full hardware POD that includes a switching fabric and
OLT devices. One challenge is to automate the boot-from-bare-metal
aspects of CORD.
For both, we also need an end-to-end testing infrastructure and a testing plan.
