Technology Profiles provide a mechanism for defining Technology specific information required above and beyond OpenFlow programming in support of Subscriber Service creation.

The Use cases supported by this EPIC include the creation of Technology Specific Profiles which can be used along with OpenFlow programming messages to support Subscriber service creation without the need for supporting technology specific Northbound management interfaces GPON, XPON, EPON, G.FAST etc. beyond the ability to create Technology Profiles utilising the existing KV Store CLI/Rest interfaces.

The Technology Profiles are passed from the VOLTHA Core to the Adapters and managed in a way that the Core does not need to interpret/understand the contents of any given Technology Profile - only the Adapters for which the Technology Profile was created understand the contents - which are then used for Profile Instance creation.

The Adapters manage any specific Resource allocation related to the Profile Instance creation and are responsible for creating any Subscriber 'UNI' port connectivity to the OLT logical switch using the Profile Instance Data and the OpenFlow Programming Data.
